This policy explains how CircadianDaily handles data when you use this website. The short version: we collect as little as possible, we never sell your information, and we are transparent about everything we do.
What Data We Collect
We collect data in three situations:
- Newsletter sign-up (optional): If you choose to subscribe to our email list, we store your email address and the date you signed up. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.
- Usage analytics (with consent): If you accept analytics in the cookie banner, Google Analytics 4 collects anonymised statistics — page views, session length, and approximate geographic location. No information is linked to your identity.
- Error monitoring: We use Sentry to automatically detect technical errors. Sentry may collect your IP address, browser type, and operating system to help us diagnose problems. We do not log your name, email address, or browsing history.
Cookies
CircadianDaily uses the following cookies:
- Antiforgery cookie (essential): Set automatically to protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks when you submit a form. Contains no personal information and expires when you close your browser.
- Blazor session cookie (essential): Used to maintain your connection to the interactive parts of the site. Deleted automatically when you close your browser.
- Google Analytics cookies (optional): Set only if you accept analytics in the cookie banner. Used for anonymised usage statistics. You can withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie banner at the bottom of the page.
Affiliate Links and Advertising Banners
CircadianDaily uses affiliate marketing to fund the site. This means some product links and advertising banners are affiliate links — if you click a link and purchase a product, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
- Affiliate relationships do not influence our recommendations. We only present products and services we consider relevant and useful.
- All affiliate banners and sponsored links are clearly labelled.
- When you click an affiliate link, the affiliate network may set a cookie on your device to track any resulting purchase. These cookies are managed by the network — not by CircadianDaily.
How We Use Your Data
Email addresses collected through the newsletter form are used solely to send you updates about CircadianDaily. Usage statistics from Google Analytics are used to understand which content is most useful — never to identify individual visitors. Technical error data collected via Sentry is used exclusively to improve site reliability. We do not share, rent, or sell your data.
Your Rights Under GDPR
If you are based in the EU or EEA, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request deletion of your data (the right to be forgotten).
- Withdraw consent or object to processing at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
Data Retention
Email addresses are kept for as long as you remain subscribed. When you unsubscribe, your address is removed from our mailing list within 30 days. Error logs collected by Sentry are retained for 90 days and then automatically deleted. Usage data in Google Analytics is handled according to Google's own data retention rules.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, each operating under its own privacy policy:
- Sentry — error monitoring (sentry.io/privacy)
- Brevo — email delivery (brevo.com/legal/privacypolicy)
- Google Analytics 4 — usage analytics with consent (policies.google.com/privacy)
- Affiliate networks — commission-based marketing; the networks we work with may vary over time.
